I decided to give my work a name that summarised the concept and the theme of my work and i came up with 'Tribute Of Stitch' as this is exactly what it is, i think the name works well and I'm really pleased with the outcome. I have finished all my sculptures and decided to share some photos with you of it in the making.

nealy finished!
I've nearly finished the big book sculpture, it took me longer than planned as I did a few sections a day rather than doing all of it at once because I'm making other things for my degree show as well as this, so have to prioritise! There will be pictures up of my sculptures soon and ill try to put some up of them displayed at the degree show in my space! I cant believe its all finally coming together, at last! when I look at myself 6 months ago, I wouldn't have thought I could produce something like this! oh and need to also make my photos on here copyrighted for publicity reasons of course...so have to find time to do that too! as well as finishing all my work, sketchbooks, portfolio, statements, photos, etc. Will post soon with photos! :)

what's going on?
OK so Easter has passed and i have managed to stitch together some final pieces as well as doing other miscellaneous things for uni, although i have stitched a few pieces, the biggest piece yet come will be stitched sometime next week...it should take about a week to stitch it all together once i have printed and stitched onto all the paper as it should come to about 2 metres in length ( if all goes well!) here are some photos of the work I've stitched... bare in mind that size isn't shown well in the photos I've taken for the big rectangle piece, i will be having them professionally photographed on Tuesday, hopefully he will do more justice to them! :)

Stressed!
Its been a while since i last posted and that's purely due to the fact that i haven't had hardly any time to myself the past few weeks, it's been work work work and then go to work! Not long to go now until i finish my 3rd year...such a scary thought. I even got my graduation arrangements sent through the post which made me realise how fast its all going, I'm scared of the thought!
I have also been trying to sort out business cards and postcards for my degree show and new designers, as well as a portfolio, artist statement and new designers press pack! all while I'm trying to sort out my final pieces; seen as though I've still been sampling and playing around with different ideas.
I know know exactly what I'm going to be doing its just getting that motivation to do it! hopefully over Easter ill get it all done and will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel! because at the minute I'm scared and stressed at the thought of things not going right and with so much to do i don't know if ill be able to do it all in time!!! wish me luck...

Big is Better!
I wanted to push the boundaries and go further with the idea of a book, its structure and how it can become a sculpture, simply by just stitching! So I killed two birds with one stone and created this piece. Seeing how big you can actually go with book binding is so exciting! and it can be manipulated and pulled or stretched into different shapes to create various sculptures, here's a few possibilities of how it can be manipulated- it's just a bit bigger than my other samples lol.
Love Books!
I never thought I'd hear my self say these words...I love book binding! I always saw it as a time consuming process where you had to have a lot of patience, that is true however when you find a stitch that you love, anyone would be crazy not to like it! Now I'm combining this technique with screen-print and paper to create a series of books for my final Major project 2...here's a few of the ones I have stitched together using handmade paper, graph paper, plain paper, J-cloths, fabriano paper and Saunders just to name a few!
